I may have just found my Holy Grail of massage oil. This may not sound like a big deal to most of you, but I am an amateur masseuse. I’m always the one my friends come to when they’ve jacked up their back or have a knot in their shoulder that they just can’t get rid of, so I have tried a buttload (a metric buttload, not an imperial one) of various oils in my quest for the perfect one. And this is it.

The full ingredient list is:
Sweet Almond Oil, Safflower Oil, Sesame Seed Oil,
Isopropyl Myristate (this is used in cosmetics and helps with absorption, but should be avoided if you are prone to acne), Avocado Oil, Myristate Propionate (I had a hell of a time finding out anything about this, but the little I could find says that it’s another chemical that is used as an emollient.)Jojoba Oil, Macadamia Nut Oil, Kukui Nut Oil, Actiphyte of Rose Hip, Ginseng, Hawaiian White Ginger, Juniper Berry Fragrance, Evening Primrose, Jasmin

Inner-Hippie Pixel is happy over the fact that all of these ingredients are either natural or cosmetic grade chemicals that are skin safe.

The price for 4.5 ounces of Sensuous oil is $6. I have to admit, I was a little hesitant to initially about this, as really cheap oils are usually exactly that, but decided to give it a chance based on the number of positive reviews. I think I would be willing to pay two times more for this oil and still feel as though I’m getting a good bargain. It’s that freaking awesome. I’m probably going to be adding another bottle to my next order, just so I have a mini-stash of the stuff, just in case.

This is a wonderful oil in use. I needed enough oil to just cover my palm to be able to give a 25 minute back massage before it felt like I was getting too much drag and needed to re-apply. It doesn’t disappear immediately into the skin, but it does absorb really well after a few minutes of massage. I didn’t find the need to wipe my hands or Master’s back clean/dry after the massage-the oil doesn’t leave any icky residue. I’ve also started using it occasionally after a shower as a body oil, and the rough patches on my elbows and some recent scar tissue love it! I feel as though it’s definitely helping the healing time on the scars.

The scent is listed as ‘passion flower’, but to me and Master, it came across as more of a vanilla smell. His reaction to sniffing the bottle was ‘Ooh, I really like that!’, which is the most positive comment he’s made about oil scents yet! It was sweet without getting cloying, and it settled down to a light vanilla scent that lasted for about an hour or two after the massage. I found out that there is an aftertaste to the oil because I may have licked Master’s back in an affectionate manner after working the worst of the knots out. What? I have an oral fixation. And the man has gorgeous lines to his back, begging to be traced with my tongue. *ahem* Anyhow! It does leave a slightly sweet/nutty on the skin. It’s not a bad flavour at all, but I probably won’t go out of my way to lick any stray drops of this oil up.

The packaging is very discreet. There’s nothing on the label to indicate that I bought it from an adult store, or that it can be used for massages of a more erotic or intimate nature, apart from the label stating that it contains pheromones. (I didn’t notice it having an aphrodisiac effect on either Master or myself.) I keep it out on my dresser tucked in with a few other body products, and it doesn’t look out of place. It’s a flip top bottle, so it’s easy to open, even when your hands are slightly slick, and I haven’t had any issues with it leaking, even during my move this week. I wouldn’t suggest storing it on it’s side, though, as there is always the possibility of oily disaster striking.

This oil gets 5 sweetly scented and slick paws up! I love it madly, and would buy it by the gallon if I could!
