Deal with it, Cupcake – A review of Ruff Doggie’s Cupcake Delight crop

I am not someone who identifies as femme, but lately in my kinky life, I’ve enjoyed playing off the fact that I am young, cute and curvy to mess with people’s heads.  My play piercing needles and scalpels live in a Hello Kitty lunchbox, my gloves that I wear during rough body play are pink, and so when Pink Cherry offered me a cute and adorable riding crop for review, I had to say yes.

The Cupcake Delight crop is by Ruff Doggie, and it’s definitely a unique product.  The head of the crop is a wide cupcake, complete with a cherry on top!  It measures about three inches at the widest part of the head, and the total length is 26 inches. Parts of the cupcake head has raised seams, and the stitching seems really sturdy and well done. It feels like a well made product, and I am not scared that it will break if I actually hit someone with it, so it’s not just a ‘novelty’ item. There was minimal packaging for this crop, just a small tag with the product name and a cute quote. It’s easy to remove this tag without damaging the toy though.

The shaft of the Cupcake Crop is wrapped in pink and black nylon, and the nylon is soft and is well attached. I’m not worried that it will separate or start to fray. The handle is a braided leather, and measures about 18 inches long. There is also a loop at the end for hanging the crop up, if you want. I would suggest storing this toy either flat or hanging, as the head of the crop could get bent if stored improperly. I’ve transported it to parties in the bottom of my play bag as well as in a suitcase, and it’s still looking good.

In use, this is not the most evil toy I have played with, but I love it because it’s versatile. The head can be used on various body parts, from back and shoulders to butt or even genitalia. While I don’t have a male submissive to play with, I imagine that the broad head on the Cupcake Delight crop would be excellent for using on someone’s cock and balls, as the size of the tip will disperse the impact equally over the area. (Disclaimer: I do recommend that you look up anatomy before you engage in any sort of cock or ball impact play.)

The feelings that this crop produces are varied. If you hit with just the tip of the head, you can get a sharp and stingy sensation, while hitting with the whole head makes for a deeper and more ‘thuddy’ feeling. Also, nowhere does it say that you only have to use the crop tip! The shaft of the toy can also be used, and can be very wicked and stingy. The different textures of the leather from the seams also adds to the sensations. I’ve not left bruises with this toy, even when I was trying to, so you would have to work hard to actually harm your partner with this toy, so it would be good for any beginner’s toybag.

For me, the best part of this crop is that it will actually leave cupcake-shaped imprints on your partner if you hit with enough force. My pet thought it was amazing, and has demanded “more cupcakes, please!”. I’ve also had requests from several other people at some play parties asking if I would be willing to leave cupcake marks on them.

Overall, this is a great impact toy that would be a good addition to any beginner or intermediate kinkster’s play bag. I give it 5 out of 5 cupcake imprinted paws up.
