One of the questions I’ve recently received has been “What’s a good first vibrator to try?”. Here’s some of my suggestions! (Please note that I will not recommend sex toys that contain pthalates or other potentially harmful chemicals, so don’t expect to ever see jelly, rubber, or PVC toys on my rec list!)
For a clitoral vibe, a great ‘first time’ toy to try out is a bullet. They’re small, discreet, affordable, and can come in some fabulous colours.
Bullets

The Harmony Bullet.
Sleek, affordable, and doesn’t come in pink or purple, which is an added bonus in my books! All the reviews I’ve read say it has good power, and it comes with multiple settings.
Xtreme Pack G-spot Bullet
I really like the control pack this comes with. It has varying levels of intensity, and I heart it because the NEON green accents are awesome, and it’s definitely a more rumbly/throbby vibe. Don’t be fooled by the name, though, this bullet will only work for g-spot play if your g-spot is shallow (close to the entrance to the vagina).
Internal vibes:

Fun Factory’s Astrovibes line
I love the whimsical shapes, and the great prices right now for these fabulous silicone vibes them worth trying. I suggest paying attention to the dimensions of these, as some of them are larger, and may be a bit much for the first time toy user.
This is the classic ‘baby’s first vibrator’. I rec this toy because it has multiple speeds, nice lines, and is a classier looking standard vibe than some of the other pink and glittery options.
G spot vibes

These differ from ‘regular’ or ‘classic’ vibrators in that the tip usually has an upward curve to it. This curve is an easier way to reach and stimulate your g-spot than using your own fingers or a perfectly straight vibe.
While I’m not a fan of the bling, the shape of the head of this toy reminds me of the Lelo Gigi, and it’s a much more affordable way to decide if you like this particular style of toy. (Plus, it comes in teal!)
Inked g-vibe and the Classic chic g-spot vibe
My very first g-spot vibe was similar to these, so I have a soft spot for this type of simple toy.
